The new robot

Published by Julia Huni on

If you've ever read the biography on this website, (I'm not saying you should, just that it's out there,) you might have noticed it ends with “…and a house that could really use a few cleaning robots.”
I originally wrote that years ago, when cleaning bots were mostly fictional. Since then, Dave the Support Husband has gotten a Roomba-style vacuum that we call Vacubot 3000, after Triana's favorite bot. But now Dave's topped that by getting a WinBot!
It washes the windows, in case that wasn't obvious from the name. That little guy isn't flashy, but he does a great job! If you're curious, I've posted a video over on Facebook.
But we need a new name, since WinBot is the official branding. I wanted to call it Murderbot, but that didn't seem appropriate, especially since I'd prefer to keep our windows intact. Some of the very clever suggestions from the Facebook post include Winn2D2, View2D2, Galasstica, and CthruWinDo.
Send me your ideas! And then we'll have a contest to pick the winner. Maybe even with a bookish prize!

This is the robot we got. (This is an affiliate link, which means Amazon pays me a little if someone buys after using this link to get to Amazon. It costs you nothing.)

If you scroll down a little, you might see there’s a newer version for $50 less for some reason. That isn’t the one we got, so I’m not actively recommending it. And, depending on when you click the link, the price may change…

You might get a better deal at the manufacturer’s site. This referral code should give you (and us) a few dollars off.
